Mike Nelson
PhD Candidate, Author, Coach

Mike Nelson has spent more than a decade of his life learning how the human body works, specifically focusing on how to properly condition it to burn fat and become stronger, more flexible, and healthier.

He's a PhD Candidate in Exercise Physiology. He holds a BA in Natural Science, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics).

He's an adjunct professor and a member of the American College of Sports Medicine.

He's been called in to share his techniques with top government agencies.

The techniques he's developed, and the results Mike gets for his clients have been featured in international magazines, in scientific publications, and on websites across the globe.

If you haven't seen me speaking at a keynote, or flipped through any of the thousands of articles I've published in the health industry, here's a brief rundown of what I do, and what you've been missing...

I am currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Minnesota in Kinesiology (Exercise Science) planning to graduate this Fall.  

I am NOT and internet trainer who took a weekend certification and says he can help you now. Pllleeeeeezze

I've spent the last 18 years in college, completing a BA in Natural Science, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering (Biomechanics) and I am almost done with my PhD.

I go to exercise physiology conferences for fun. Literally I do and love it.

I work with athletes of all types to get them the best results of their life.

I write studies for industry and scientific publications, including Metabolic Flexibility and the Effects of Energy Drinks. Translation, I got to feed college kids Monster Energy Drink and measure a bunch of stuff in the lab and answer the key questions "Do those darn things even work?"


I teach for Globe University in Exercise Physiology, and am an Adjunct Faculty at the University of St Thomas where I teach Kinesiology and Exericse Physiology.  I've taught and conducted research in the Human Physiology at the University of Minnesota and in the Mechanical Engineering department at Michigan Technological University in the past

I'm a professional member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN), and the American Society of Nutrition (ASN).   I am also a peer reviewer for scientific journals.

I've presented at the American College of Sports Medicine, Z-Health Advanced Nutrition Course in AZ, Z-Health Master Trainer program, International Society of Sports Nutrition, VPX Sports Supplements and many others.  

I do personal training/ movement coaching in White Bear Lake Minnesota and if you do not live there I do have online training also.
